Tho. We're proud to welcome you to our home in the Mekong Delta, and
our aim is to try to ensure that tourism in the region brings benefits
to travellers and locals alike. We love to introduce visitors to the
daily lives and specific customs of the Mekong people, whilst at the
same time connecting local people to the outside world and ensuring
that they gain from tourism.
Day 1: Can Tho - Xeo Quit - Long XUyen - Chau Doc
Pick
up from your hotel. Visitors first will take the boat trip to explore
the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong (Bassac River). The
boat trip later takes you to the Cai Rang and Phong Dien floating
markets, which are the most traditional and busiest marketplaces in the
region. Visitors will then visit the place where the traditional
Vietnamese vermicelli soup is made - and hopefully be able to try some
if they haven't already!
Then you will have the chance to roam
into the local village to interact with the local people. Here, they
have a chance to experience how to pass a "Monkey Bridge" which is
contracted by only one piece of bamboo. After mastering the bridge,
lunch will be served. Then we proceed to Chau Doc via Long Xuyen to
visit the Thot Not bird sanctuary, and then checking in on arrival in
Chau Doc. Admire the landscape from the Sam Mountain summit down to the
Vietnamese - Cambodian border, and then visit the caved pagoda. Check
in and overnight stay in hotel.
Day 2: Chau Doc - Phnom Penh
After
breakfast visitors will take a rowing boat trip through the floating
village to visit the fish farm to see how the Mekong Delta people raise
fish on their floating houses. Visit the Cham minority with their
traditional weaving village. Then it's onto a speed boat to head
towards Phnom Penh. Arrive in the Cambodian capital at around 14:00 at
the Sisowath tourist dock.
This tour can be customized as you wish!
Cancellation will be charged as follow:
- More than 7 days prior to trip departure. No charge.
- Within 7 days before arrival: 10% charge
- Within 5 days before arrival: 40% charge
- Within 3 days before arrival: 60% charge
- Within 48 hours before arrival: 100% charge
Final payment is due 2 days in advance of the tour.
These
payments are due in our office or submitted online 3 days prior to the
departure date. If reservations are made less than 2 days prior to
departure, payment in full is required at the time of booking. If final
payments are not received on time, Mekong Tours may cancel the
reservation and invoke the cancellation fee.
Except if otherwise
agreed by Mekong Tours, Client's payment shall be executed by cash,
credit card or traveller's cheques. Except for cash payment, a service
charge may apply (3% of the card holder). In cases where credit
facilities have been agreed with the Client/Agent, payment shall be
executed by swift or telegraphic transfer to the appropriate Mekong
Tours bank account. Any bank charges levied by the sending bank
relating to transfers to must be paid by the Mekong Tour Client/Agent.
Payment will be settled through our bank account at least 2 days before arrival.
Refund of Unused services
No
refunds or exchange can be made in respect of accommodation, meals,
sightseeing tours, transports or any other services which are included
in the tour prices but not utilized by the tour member.
Voucher
Voucher
will be issued by Mekong Tours after the booked trip is confirmed and
payment is completed. A service voucher will be sent by email/fax or
snail mail to passenger.
Liability and Insurance
Mekong
Tours is not responsible for any loss, injury or damage sustained by
passengers incurred due to delay, accidents, natural disaster,
political actions and unrest must be borne by passengers. Passengers
are required to have full travel insurance. Should this occur, we will
endeavour to substitute suitable arrangement of similar value.
Participation on any tour implies full agreement to above conditions by
all parties involved.
Confirmation
All
confirmations are generally confirmed by return fax or e-mail within 2
working days. In case immediate confirmation is not possible, we will
inform you of the booking status at the time of reservation.
